Normally
the BMW in-car television and videotext starting from approx. 4 Km/h
driving speed automatically switch off.
In some cases you can enable "TV while driving" function manually (
download instructions ), but in most case you need special equipment
called "BMW TV-activator".
The
TV-Activator is designed for following BMW models from year 09/97 with
standard Navigation system & TV-Tuner :
BMW
7 series - E38; BMW 5 series - E39; BMW 3 series - E46; BMW X5 - E53;
up to year 2003...
The
ignition must be switched on before programming "TV-Activation" and
switched off after programming. Connect tool to car diagnostic socked (
BMW 20 pins or OBD-II 16-pins) and push:
Red
button = TV locked, no
picture at all times.
Yellow
button = Factory default,
no picture while driving 4km/h or faster.
Green
button = TV activated,
picture enabled while driving.
